Your profile and first course

A tutorial with app screenshots, narration and captions. You can also follow the written steps.

Guides for version 3.0.1. If you still use an earlier version, some menus may be in a different location.

1. Set up your profile

From the home menu, open Account. Choose Español or English, enter your name and set your handicap, gender and usual tee. GHIN and email are optional. Tap Save.

You do not need to create a Cacha Golf password: this profile is saved on your phone. Your iCloud account is separate.

2. Download your first course

With an internet connection, open Settings → Courses → Cacha Golf Catalog. Search for the course name and select it. To refresh the list, tap Refresh catalog.

Review the scorecard, tees and available GPS points. Under Save to, leave New course selected if you do not have it yet. Scroll down and tap Save course. The course will be available on your phone for offline play.

You do not need a GolfCourseAPI key to download from the Cacha Golf catalog. If your course is missing, add it manually from Settings → Courses → Add or contact support. Importing from GolfCourseAPI is a separate option that requires your own key.

3. Choose your Home Course

Return to Account → Home Course and select the course you downloaded. This preference is saved automatically and selects that course when you create a new round.

4. Start a round

Open Rounds → New round and check the course, game format and holes. Add your players and review their tees and handicaps before starting.

To see GPS distances, allow location access and use a course with mapped points. Scorecard yardages do not necessarily mean a course includes GPS coordinates.
